Listing the Lies

April 5, 2011 Focusing on God's will, I'm going to think about some of the lies I hear that hurt my relationship and obedience to God. Lie #1 You just had surgery (breast reduction) and are in pain. You don't need a growl to eat when you are hurting. The food will help you heal. It's so comforting when you are hurting and you know you are hurting now because you just took a Tylenol. Don't wait for the growl, help yourself now. You are hurting. Right? Eat. Get a sweet, they really help. Then something salty, you know what I mean. Truth: 1 Peter 5:8-10 Be self-controlled & alert. Your enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that other saints throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. Lie #2 You're taking Tylenol for the pain from surgery. You NEED to eat some little thing. NOW! QUICK! or you'll be really nauseous. Hurry! Quick, Hide and Eat! TRUTH: I'm grateful for Tylenol and know one single cracker stops the nausea. Yes, one!
